Crucible Medical Training are different to the norm. Our instructors are firstly all Veterans, as well as working in Frontline Emergency Services; from the NHS' Hazard Area Response Team to Fire & Rescue Technical Rescue Unit. This means that we are not only up to date with all things medical, but we practice what we preach, day in day out.

How We Got Here

Crucible Medical Training was formed by a team passionate about Pre-Hospital Emergency Care and with extensive experience in instructing in Military, Frontline Emergency Service and Civilian settings.

Although forged in the Steel City, we aren't afraid of travel. We have training venues throughout South Yorkshire, or we can come to you!

Our priority is ensuring you are equipped with the most up to date Medical training offered by our awarding body, Qualsafe, to ensure you and your team feel confident in delivering Pre-Hospital Care not only in your own work place, but in everyday life.

QA LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK (RQF)

This is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

 

Course Overview

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. 

 

At Crucible Medical this also includes:

-Using an AED safely and effectively

-Optional Catastrophic Bleed Module included in the price

Over a 5 day period, Learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to deal with a range of Prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airways, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more.

he QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised Prehospital care qualification specifically designed for those looking to progress their career within the NHS or private ambulance services as an emergency care assistant, intermediate ambulance practitioner, event medical provider, associate practitioner or healthcare assistant. It is also ideal for those who are looking to work within specialist roles in the military, police and fire services.

Fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level E, this fantastic qualification provides Learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be able to deal with a wide range of Prehospital care emergencies, such as: major incidents, fracture immobilisation, sick and injured children, mental health problems and more.

QA LEVEL 3 AWARD IN PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID (RQF)


Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more.


The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all early years providers in England to have at least one person who has a current and full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and available at all times when children are present. Providers should also take into account the number of children, staff and layout of the premises and increase their paediatric first aid provision accordingly to ensure that a paediatric first aider is available to respond to emergencies quickly.

WHAT IF I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH CRUCIBLE MEDICAL TRAINING?

Qualsafe (our awarding body) have a robust complaints procedure, which ensures that if any unlikely issues arise, they can be highlighted to the instructor, centre manager or straight to Qualsafe if required.

DO YOU OFFER ANY OTHER COURSES?

Due to the experience of our instructors, we can offer the full compliment of Qualsafe's Pre-Hospital, First Aid Courses and Fire Safety Courses. All you have to do is ask!

I WORK PRIMARILY WITH CHILDREN, DO YOU OFFER A SUITABLE COURSE?

ALEX

Alex's passion for Pre-Hospital Medicine started when he trained as a Team Medic with the Military. This continued when he joined the Fire Service, and trained initially as a 'First Aid and Trauma Instructor' before progressing onto First Response Emergency Care (FREC) Level 4, and completing a Level 3 Award in Education & Training.

As well as teaching FREC and First Aid at Work, Alex also has extensive experience in teaching a variety of subjects in the military, from Trauma & First Aid to Physical Training. He also has a background in Outdoor Pursuits, working with a variety of people including Young Offenders and Children & Adults with Special Needs.

Alex is currently serving with a Fire & Rescue Service Technical Rescue Unit.

ERIC

Eric is a HCPC registered Paramedic with a background of frontline 999 Ambulance Service work, Private events, remote and hostile environments, military medicine and repatriation/retrieval operations.

Currently he works as a Hazardous Area Response Team Paramedic within an NHS Ambulance trust whilst studying for his Masters in Advanced Practice and teaching all grades of medical and first aid courses
